This organization was inspired by the small acts of kindness that we see every day in our community. We wanted to create a community where the positive was far louder than the negative. A community where anyone who wants to be kind, wants to make impacts big and small, could find a home with us. In November 2018 eight members of the community met to discover how we could turn this vision into a reality. That was the day that the Canton Kindness Coalition was born. We quickly mobilized and planned several events during the holiday season. Our first event was held at Arcadia Grille and Cantonology, we made holiday cards and delivered them to local veterans. Soon after Cantonology opened their doors to us once again where we made holiday wreaths and distributed them around Downtown Canton. In December we hosted a food drive for local animal shelter Pitties and Kitties.
We have continued our acts of kindness throughout the new year, hosting two Martin Luther King Day of Service Events in support of Be A Better Me Foundation and Domestic Violence Project, Inc. We also held our first fundraiser during Canton First Friday, where we sold
In 2019 we hosted our first ever National Random Acts of Kindness Week! We participated in many acts of kindness throughout the week. Included delivering Valentine’s Day Cards to the residents of Canton Towers! We coordinated a huge Random Acts of Kindness Day on February 17th. We provided dinner for TSA workers at the Akron Canton Airport, made cards for patients at Aultman Hospital, and organized a donation drive for comfort carts also for Aultman Hospital.
We will keep you posted as we make kindness contagious!
